On Friday 9th November, our year 9/10 debaters won the state debating final against Sydney Boys High.  The team of year 9 students, Ebony Adams, Brooke McLennan and Hannah Worsley and year 10 student, Matilda Witherdin debated the affirmative of, "that Asian languages should be mandatory in Australian schools" The team emphasised the importance of China as Australia's main trading partner and the respect Australia would show Chimna by learning their language, the development of the btrain that occurred through learning a pictorial language and the increased opportunities that would come for young people with an extra language.

The debate was very close but the talent and commitment of our team plus the superb coaching of teacher, Mrs Karen Witherdin, ensured our victory.
