Isabelle Hampton returned victorious to Inverell after winning an unprecedented 6 gold medals at the CHS Athletics Carnival.

Isabelle competed in the AWD T12 division – athlete with a disability, as she suffers from a visual impairment caused by keratoconus, where there is thinning of the cornea. Her eyesight has been deteriorating since year 7. Although an extremely talented all-round athlete, she has had to give up playing a number of competitive sports, including softball and hockey, but at this stage can continue with athletics and touch, two sports in which she has gained selection in North West teams this year.  

Isabelle's gold medals at state included: the 200m and a National Record; the 100m with a National Record in U20s and U18s; Shotput; Discus; Javelin with a National U20s and U18s record; and Long Jump with a record for both the U20s and U18s. Isabelle said, "It was great to see all my hard effort pay off".
